Programme Operations Group

This group focuses on the implementation of the UK National Quantum Technologies Programme, including coordination of efforts by the various government agencies and key organisations concerned with the development of quantum technologies in the UK.

The role of the Operations Group is to:

  • Enable the effective coordination of the actions of the relevant Government agencies and other key organisations with regards to the development of Quantum Technologies in the UK.
  • Facilitate the effective and efficient delivery of the publicly funded Quantum Technologies investment in the UK as a whole.
  • Identifying scope for collaboration and co-funding R&D and joint calls.
  • Co-ordination and development of policy across Government agencies and Local Enterprise Partnerships.

The group contains representation from EPSRC, Technology Strategy Board, National Physical Laboratory (NPL), Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), Communications-Electronics Security Group (CESG), and Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (now the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy [BEIS]).

The Programme Operations Group will meet six times per year.
