Past resource allocation panel awards

One way of gaining access to High End Computing Terascale Resources (HECToR) / Advanced Research Computing High End Resource (ARCHER) is through the Resource Allocation Panel (RAP). The RAP meets three times a year to assess 1b proposals and requests for top-up resource on existing grants, as well as access requests for the general-purpose computing on graphics processing units (GPGPU) testbed. Calls are published on the EPSRC website on a regular basis.

Members of the RAP are selected from a cross section of High Performance Computing users within the Engineering and Physical Sciences community. The RAP will assess the scientific quality of the proposals taking into account the assessment criteria published in the call. It will also make recommendations regarding the requested level of computing resource. There is no postal refereeing of proposals submitted under this mechanism.
