2012-13 proposal funding rates
Note: EPSRC will continue to openly publish funding rate information.
In support of our 2011/12 to 2014/15 Delivery Plan, we now fund research by theme without distinguishing between responsive and targeted modes. EPSRC published reports from 2011/12 onwards reflect current objectives and our new way of working.
In the financial year 01 April 2012 to 31 March 2013, EPSRC considered 2,931 research grant proposals through peer review, and provided funding for 995 - a funding rate of 34%. With a financial demand of £1,969 million, but only able to fund £734 million, gave a value of 37%. Funding rates exclude institution grants awarded by algorithmic methods.
During the same period, the average number constrained by the Repeatedly Unsuccessful Applicants policy was 9, but in March 2013 was up to 11.
