RCUK Policy and Guidelines on Governance of Good Research Conduct

The RCUK Policy and Guidelines sets out RCUK's approach to the establishment and maintenance of good research conduct, and specifies the Research Council's expectations. It should be read with the Universities UK concordat and with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements. The RCUK Policy and Guidelines apply across the full spectrum of research and training funded by the research councils.

The principles and guidelines apply in particular to:

  • good conduct in peer review
  • the need for appropriate training and development
  • what constitutes unacceptable research
  • the investigation and reporting of unacceptable research conduct.
