Neil is responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of the EPSRC programme in line with its mission, strategic plan and delivery plan, ensuring the integration of all stakeholder perspectives into the EPSRC programme and ensuring that strategic plan goals are developed and delivered in line with EPSRC's overall strategy with a specific interest in the Balancing Capability strategy.
Neil also sits on the Alan Turing Institute Board, and is a member of its audit committee having previously been Project Director leading the establishment of the Institute. This follows several years developing EPSRC's People strategy, including the 2013/14 CDT exercise. Prior to this he was head of the policy and analysis team and a specialist policy advisor at the Office of Science and Technology and has held a variety of strategy and operational roles within the Research Councils.
