Your expression of interest will be assessed by a selection panel comprising the Director, Mentors and an occupational psychologist. Between them they will aim to ensure an effective balance of disciplines, expertise and experience in the final mix of participants. Their assessment will be based on the evidence you provide in your EoI of your:
- Ability to develop new, adventurous and highly original research ideas.
- Potential to contribute to research at the interface between disciplines.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Ability to explain research to non experts.
If you have attended or even applied to attend a sandpit previously you are not barred from applying or attending again. Applications from people who have applied or attended sandpits previously will be assessed against the selection criteria in the same way as all of the others. However, in cases where two applicants are thought to match the criteria equally well we will give preference to new applicants.
Please note that, because of the large number of applications expected, we will not be able to give individual feedback to unsuccessful applicants.
