- Discipline Hopping

- Technology Strategy Board Collaborative Research and Development and Innovation Platform Competitions
Funding for industrial-academic collaborative R&D projects in strategically important areas. Additional funding from EPSRC may be available for projects with a significant high-quality academic component that provide added value to our existing portfolio. - Innovation and Knowledge Centres
Centres of excellence with five years’ funding to accelerate and promote business exploitation of an emerging research and technology field. A key feature is a shared space and entrepreneurial environment, in which researchers, potential customers and skilled professionals from academia and business can work together. January – March 2010
- Multidisciplinary Research Funding at the New Research Complex at Harwell
Flexible, underpinning funding for up to 5 years to enable research groups working across traditional discipline interfaces to develop close collaborations with experts at the shared facilities on the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory site. Date of call: January 2010 Contact: Stephanie Lewis
- 2010 Industrial CASE pool competition
Industrial CASE provides funding for PhD studentships where businesses take the lead in arranging projects with an academic partner of their choice. This year we will be operating a limited competition. The details (including scope/ eligibility restrictions) will be published with the formal call for proposal in January. Call for Innovative Manufacturing Research Centres under new funding model with priority areas identified from the manufacturing theme day and complementing the areas of the new IMRCs announced in the first call and those IMRCs with funding post 2011.
